Call for Volunteers

Artist-Run Centres & Collectives of Ontario (ARCCO) is looking for volunteers to help out at its upcoming national conference Artists at the Center: Moving from the Margins to Inclusion, and during related evening events.
Volunteering at Artists at the Center will be an amazing professional development and career-building opportunity for young artists, cultural workers, and students interested in contemporary arts and culture in Canada. This great opportunity will immerse you in a dynamic community of professional artists, curators, critics, scholars and cultural workers who are influential to shaping artist-run culture across the country.
When: Wednesday, November 11th to Saturday, November 14th, 2015
Where: Ryerson Student Centre, 55 Gould Street, Toronto. With auxiliary event locations listed below –
What are we are looking for:
Pre-conference – Wednesday, November 11th, 2015
- Conference set-up
- Registration package set-up
During the conference – Thursday, November 12th to Saturday, November 14th, 2015
- Time keepers for presentations
- Door monitors
- Technical assistants
During evening receptions – Thursday, November 12th to Saturday, November 14th, 2015

Artists at the Center: Moving from the Margins to Inclusion is a three-day national conference that will examine the role of engagement throughout contemporary art and artist-run culture. Featuring over 30 presenters from a variety of cultural backgrounds, levels of experience and locations across Canada, Artists at the Center will feature both formal presentations and self-directed discussions that will encourage participants to reconsider forms of engagement at artist-run centres and public institutions.
Artists at the Center will foster strategic thinking, new collaborations, professional development, and the exchange of information between art communities and different municipalities nationwide. An opportunity to enhance and build the capacity of Canada’s artist-run centre milieu, ARCCO invites you to participate in this timely conversation with peers in your community.
